Frequently asked questions about the Cynical Libertarian Society and Stating The Obvious.
20 OCT 05: It's amazing. You people out there never stop being stupid. Never stop looking to the government to clean your ass for you. Never consider thinking for yourself. Never stop trying to give up as much freedom as you can. Could all of you just die?
13 SEP 05: Skippy has been having a great summer, but not it's time to get back to business. That means taking the time to tell you stupid fuckers how fucking stupid you are.
07 APR 05: Skippy destroys Utilitarianism and explains why this is the perfect moral theory for whinny-ass liberals.
07 MAR 05: Does Skippy dare to take on monogamy and marriage? You bet your ass he does. Why? Because his balls are huge!
"Contempt" sure isn't what I'm going for there, or thinking, but I realize that I often lack social and rhetorical skills that would make someone think that, which bothers me. Especially since I love the company of women, in every area of life, so much.
But it is also true that just discussing women in anything less than hagiographical terms in America does get you called "anti-woman", but I am no more anti-woman than I am anti-Muslim, anti-fat, anti-gay or anti any group. I am, however, pro truth, at least as I see it.
This is addressed in the standup special that's running now on HBO. I outline why I think America is a feminized society: 'sensitivity is more important than truth, feelings more important than facts, commitment more important than individuality, children more important than people, safety more important than fun...' - oh, and here's a bonus one not in the show: Being nice is more important than being right.
-- Bill Maher
Being nice is more important than being right. That says it all. Welcome to my world. I'm always right. I'm seldom nice.
"I've never actually seen an extremely beautiful goth girl myself; most of them seem to have weight problems, which has always struck me as strangely contradictory. From the neck up, the look cultivated by goth girls seems to say, "Oh, we despair of this world and long for the sweet embrace of death!" From the neck down, their look seems to say, "I'll take the bacon cheeseburger, two orders of fries and a Diet Coke, please."
-- Dan Savage
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
-- King George II
Say what you like about the man, you gotta admire his honesty.
