9 year old Jessica Wells stuck her hair in the mouth of an automated Cabbage Patch doll and her family will need therapy because of the "attack" (their word, not mine). Thus, the parents are filing a $25.5 million lawsuit. They said the entire family will require psychological help for "mental and emotional injuries".
Perspective time. First, if your child has a Cabbage Patch doll, you have too much money already, and therapy would be a good idea. Second, people to dumb to take the batteries out of the doll can not get "mental injuries". There is nothing there to injure. Third, interesting observation. Amazing how many other children have had their hair eaten since this occurrence. The figure I heard was "about 100". I'm still not sure if these people are really dumb, or really smart.
Comair Flight 3272. The airplane crashes, people die. Now here's the important part. Caption under the photo in the newspaper. "A woman is escorted out . . . where counselors where available to help friends and relatives of passengers and crew . . ."
Perspective time. People die all the time. People drop like flies. Why are counselors required? Humans have dealt with death for, well, a long time. As far as my research indicates people have been dying since there were people. Only today, only in Amerika (land of the serfs and home of the weak) do we need a shrink when someone dies. The best I can gather from this is the following concept: It's fine for people to die in ones and twos, as they do around the clock, every single day (ya ever stop and wonder how many people die in one day - it doesn't matter from what or how, just how many die in a day), but when they die in a group, same place, same time, this type of death is somehow worse. They are "more dead" maybe?
Another "rape", this time at the Greeley Mall. The blah blah blah blah was printed.
Perspective time. At least this time around it didn't take the authorities long to figure out she was lying. Once again, as with the similar incident which occurred on the campus on UNC, a young woman, scratch that, a child had sex, then in her emotional maturity decided that she regretted the action (poor baby) so she Clintoned, I mean lied. And you wonder why I look at Generation Xtra Stupid and say bad things.
While we are on the subject of the younger generations, here's a great one. If this surprises you, I'd like to know where you have been for the last 10 years. Twenty-two percent of the "basic-level" students (read average dumb) could answer this question:
Luis mixed 6 ounces of cherry syrup with 53 ounces of water to make a cherry flavored drink. Martin mixed 5 ounces of the same cherry syrup with 42 ounces of water. Who made the drink with the stronger cherry flavor? Show you work.
Perspective time. For the other 78% of you, that means that 78% of you couldn't figure this out. I'm pretty sure the way to solve this problem is to spend more money on education, after all the teachers union probably needs some new carpet for their national headquarters. I am certain however, that the self esteem of these students is beyond reproach. When I make comments on the stupidity of our (your) children, I am often insulted and asked what makes me think I'm so smart. For your information, nothing makes me think I'm smart. I went to publik skool, and I didn't learn a thing. That's how I know so much about it.
