Someplace in the mountains of Colorado is a monument to the 10th Mountain Division. I was there, but don't have a clue where "there" is. This is some of 3rd Herd in front of said hunk of stone. We were there for the dececation ceremony.

This is a 4th ID 113 APC. We spent one night in the dark hiding from these things.

This is an F-4 on patrol for the 4th ID. Everytime one flew over we had to hit the ground and freeze.

it's a bit hard to see, but there is a rope going off to the right. On the other side it's attached to a mountain. I can't believe I was ever dumb enuf to cross something like that.

Blue drinking coffee. Those little tents are called ecko-tats. Or, as we called them, ecko-shits. When it rained they filled with water half the time.

Ah yes, and here is someone going across that rope between mountains. What fools we were. I don't know who tied those ropes off, and I probably shouldn't have trusted them.

Rapelling down the side of a really big rock. It's not as easy as you would think.

SGT Hannah standing in the rain without a poncho. Why don't we get in the little tents you ask? Because they are full of water.

SGT Hannah kicking back. This was after we had packed up and were waiting to go back to the airport & fly home to Fort Benning. On the right is Portell.

Well, I was crossing the rope bridge, then I slipped . . .

. . . No really, I'm fine. You don't have to come out and help me. I'm just hanging out. . .

. . . Ok, maybe I could use a little help getting out of here.

Kevin felt the need to charge off the side of a cliff. He got to spend some time in a cast and ended up on slug duty for quite some time.

The 10th MTN monument, and us.

More of the same.

We got a day off to go into town. Here are Rodney and Scott taking a break waiting for the bus.

The monument without all of us.

Looking out over one of the places where the WWII 10th MTN trained at.

This is what you see when you are about to slide down a rope off the top of a cliff. That truck down there, that's the meat wagon. Talk about inspiring confidence.....

We had to road march to the ceremony for the monument dedecation. Here we see Rodney expressing his opinion of that road march.

And here we are, still walking.

The Army has swimming pools, but they do not have lifeguards like this.

This is not from Colorado, but since I'm showing photos of people expressing opinions, here is Scott Dill expressing his.

Nor did we have anything like this waiting for us back at the base. You had to get off post to find recreation equipment of this nature.
