Why Don't Dreams Come True

I've been searching, searching high & low
I don't have a map, I don't know where to go
Trying to make progress, but revelations come so slow
Why don't dreams come true

I don't get it, there must be some angle
I would like to sort things out, but it's just a big tangle
Is truth to be found, or a carrot to dangle
Why don't dreams come true

One night in a dream, I bid you adieu
I built a rocket & to the farthest star I flew
And once I was there and took in the view
I still didn't know why dreams don't come true
