No Need To Try
It kinda makes me wonder when I look around.
Why can't I put all these people 6 feet under ground.
I am surrounded by sheep, lazy and the useless,
absorbed in themselves, don't realize they're clueless.
Why are poor people fat, how do they get so much food,
why can't they take a bath, why are their children rude.
How can they sit so long watching television?
Springer or Sally, it's such a big decision.
chorus:
Life got easy, no need to try.
Necessities provided 'till the day they die.
Nothing was difficult with the safety nets.
No one cared about deficiencies and debts.
Big Brother took control for our own good.
No one questions whether or not he should.
It kinda makes me wonder at the slime surrounding me.
A life that is lived based on images from the TV.
Buy the products that are preapproved.
Watch the PSAs until the tears are moved.
Corporations say spend & rebel, rebel & spend.
The sheep rush forth to comply until the end.
The mind is given over to images which control.
No knowledge or awareness of the final goal.
chorus:
Fall into the web, entangled by the threads.
Such is the power that keeps us from our beds.
On the net we find all the latest information,
we find chat rooms and sexual stimulation.
We got browser wars coming to a head.
We got news reports about places with lots of dead.
We got sitcoms that rave and rant,
but product placement is the only constant.
