motionless
gaze fixed upon the paper
she writes
I wonder at her words
strawberry & pale
she ignores all intervention
her eyes follow her words
my eyes follow her eyes
brief flashes of hazel
self-assured concentration
invites me
while insinuating
"keep your distance"
