Steal A Kiss In The Rain

Heaven’s tears fall around us.
Pitter-patter on the plaza.
The brickwork walkway assumes neon hue
as the puddles form
countless looking glasses,
each filled with ripples & waves,
rain drops splash among their colours.

In a flash of lightning
trees silhouette,
then dive back
into obscure darkness.
Wishes that come true,
for only the moment,
fantasies revealed to selective watchers,
again hidden to prying eyes.

Resigned to being wet
I watch the rain splash on your skin.
I imagine it’s caress feels as soft
to you
as it does to me.
I imagine the cool track
left by the droplet
running down your check
as if it were a tear.
A tear of love.
In that tear I see my reflection
imposed on your soft skin.

I lean forward to examine,
in the process
I steal a kiss
in the rain.

Leaving you a smile in return.
