This is the funniest damn Linux related movie ever.

Linux, not Linus![]() It's just so groovy, it makes me dance. |
I have been running Linux since December of 2000. I started with Mandrake. Tried Debian. Now I'm building my own fun with Gentoo. This is not an attempt to start a distro flame war, simply a statement of fact. I'm not gonna call your momma names because you don't use Gentoo. Use whatever you like, so long as it's not Windows.
Here are some interesting reports on security vulnerabilities of Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
To kick things off, this is a short essay regarding open source & the advantages of such as writtern by Steve W. This was taken off the Mandrake Linux mailing list. Steve wrote this as a reply to a post on the list & gave me his permission to put this on my site.

Response to Bill Gates regarding ease-of-use with Linux and the Open Source model by Gaƫl Duval, Co-Founder of Mandrakesoft, with additions by Phil Lavigna. This essay is published under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License

Coming soon, when I am less lazy, Why Linux is Ready for Prime Time by your hero, your god, the one you look to for guidance, Skip Doggie Dogg.

In my search for a word processor for Linux I have investigated ApplixOffice 5.0. You can read my review of ApplixWords 5.0 and see some screen shots of it here.
I am all about the eye candy. That is why I use Enlightenment. Eye candy requires tight wallpapers, so I am always on the lookout for good stuff, and often making my own. Here you can pick up the wall paper you would find on my system.
These here are wallpapers featuring photos I have scanned or lifted from the internet.

These are wallpapers made with my photos and are all copyright by me. Of course you can use them on your desktop, and you can distribute them as you like, to include putting them on your site for download if you wish. Just don't be changing them.
Enlightenment is my window manager of choice. Check out the screen shots of my Gentoo box running E-16.

31 OCT 02: Ok, I'm a bit late posting this, but I'm doing it anyway. Mandrake 9.0 is already out, and part of this essay is a review of MDK 8.2. This also however is an essay about me trying to rebuild my system (MDK and Win98) and some of the mistakes and bad thinking that happened along the way. So think of this as a warning not to do the things I have done. Learn from my mistakes.
4 MAY 04: It's been awhile since I've had anything to say here. I am now using Gentoo Linux. I had to say bye-bye to Mandrake. It was just now working. The sound didn't work, XFree did random crashes and Mandrakes "easy to use" configuration utilities are a bunch of useless crap. Gentoo is a source based distro with a great tool called emerge which is used to install and upgrade. It's a bit more difficult to install and set up than Mandrake. No GUI, it's all command line. But the instructions were very clear and useable and once it's up and running, it's up and running. Mandrakes install tool, urpmi, is the most useless crap ever. I never managed to install anything with that. On top of that, RPMDrake, the Mandrake GUI rpm tool, couldn't even find my CD drive much less install anything.

I haven't actually tried FreeBSD yet, but I intend to take a whack at it when I have time to play around with it. Time . . . Yea, I got plenty of that going on.
Does Microsoft have the FreeBSD Devil?
Hell no. So why the fuck would you use Windows?
